    ❤️Beckham is a 3-year-old, medium/large male with a gentle soul and a playful heart once he feels safe. He’s a sensitive boy who thrives in calm, familiar surroundings and forms a deep bond with his person.

    💛At home, Beckham enjoys the simple pleasures in life: chew bones, belly rubs, tasty treats, and watching the world go by from the window (especially if there’s someone to bark at!). He loves playing with other dogs and will happily bury his head into you for a cuddle while you’re working. If treats are involved, don’t worry — he’ll hear the rustle from the next room!

    🧡Beckham is toilet trained, knows how to sit and give paw, and lives well with other dogs and cats. A child-free home is essential for him due to his anxiety.

    💚Beckham does struggle with fear and anxiety. He is very wary of strangers, particularly men, and will only allow handling from his primary caregiver. He is not currently collar or lead trained and has not been walked, as he finds this too overwhelming at present. He can also be reactive to passers-by when watching from the window and is very frightened of loud noises and disruption. Beckham has nipped due to his anxiety before surrounding guests entering the home so any new owners or caregivers would need to be willing to work with his fear surrounding people entering the home.

    💙Because of this, Beckham needs a quiet, calm, and patient home, ideally with experienced adopters who understand fearful dogs and are willing to let him move at his own pace. With time, consistency, and kindness, he has the potential to slowly come out of his shell and continue building confidence.

    🩵Before his move to the UK, Beckham was a confident, happy, and settled boy. He formed a very close bond with his rescuer and made lovely connections with the other dogs at the shelter. We truly believe that with time, patience, and plenty of love, Beckham will rediscover that happiest version of himself once he feels fully safe and settled again.

    Beckham is a healthy boy — neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea & wormed, and brucellosis and 4DX tested.

    🚗 Travel & Adoption Info:
    For UK-based dogs, we ask fosterers and adopters to assist with transport by meeting part way. UK dogs have a reduced adoption fee, and fosterers are offered fuel reimbursement. Transport can be arranged if needed, at the adopter’s expense.
